Word Run Privacy Policy

Digital Helix Labs (“Digital Helix Labs,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates Word Run, a mobile game available or intended for availability on iOS and Android.

This Privacy Policy explains what information Word Run collects, how that information is used, when it may be shared with service providers, and the choices available to players.

Word Run is currently intended for users in the United States.

1. Information We Collect

Word Run does not require you to provide an email address, phone number, real name, or password to play.

However, certain information is created or collected automatically so that game features can function.

Anonymous Player Account

When you use Word Run, the game creates an anonymous player account through Unity Gaming Services.

This account may include:

• A unique player ID
• A Unity installation identifier
• Authentication/session information
• An automatically generated display name
• A display name you choose to enter

You do not need to provide an email address or password for this account.

Your display name may be shown to other players on Word Run leaderboards. We recommend that you do not use your real name or other personal information as your display name.

Game Progress and Player Data

Word Run may store information such as:

• Level progress
• Stars earned
• Lives and revive information
• Coins
• Power-ups
• Character unlocks
• Inventory
• Boosts
• Tutorial progress
• Starter-pack status
• Certain ad-use counters and timestamps
• Other gameplay progression information

Some information is stored locally on your device, while some is stored through Unity Gaming Services, including Cloud Save and Economy services.

Leaderboard Information

Word Run may submit certain scores and progress information to Unity Leaderboards, including:

• Display name
• Total stars
• Earned coins
• Highest level reached

Leaderboard information may be visible to other Word Run players.

2. Analytics and Game Performance

Word Run uses Unity Analytics to understand how players use the game and to improve gameplay, balance, stability, and performance.

Analytics information may include:

• Game sessions and session duration
• Levels started, completed, failed, or abandoned
• Stars and progression
• Word submission results
• Word length
• Game modes played
• Coins earned or spent
• Power-ups used
• Revive activity
• Advertising events
• Shop and purchase-flow events
• Tutorial activity
• App version
• Scene or level information
• Device model and operating system
• Screen and hardware information
• Language/locale
• Player, installation, and session identifiers
• Approximate country derived from network information
• Error and diagnostic information

The actual words you submit during normal gameplay are not sent to Unity Analytics by Word Run.

Error information may contain technical error messages or limited diagnostic information used to identify problems with the game.

3. Advertising

Word Run displays:

• Rewarded advertisements
• Interstitial advertisements

Word Run does not currently use banner advertising.

Advertising is provided through Unity LevelPlay, which may mediate advertising from providers including:

• Google AdMob
• Unity Ads

Non-Personalized Advertising

Word Run is configured to use non-personalized or contextual advertising.

We do not use advertising data to intentionally personalize advertisements based on your activity across other companies’ apps or websites.

Word Run also sends privacy-restriction signals intended to limit the sale, sharing, or behavioral use of player data for advertising.

Advertising providers may still process limited information for purposes such as:

• Delivering contextual advertisements
• Frequency capping
• Measuring advertising performance
• Detecting invalid traffic
• Fraud prevention
• Security
• Reporting

This may include information such as IP address, device or app information, advertising-related identifiers where permitted by the operating system, and information about ad interactions.

Word Run does not currently request Apple’s App Tracking Transparency permission, and Word Run’s own code does not intentionally use Apple’s IDFA for advertising.

4. In-App Purchases

Word Run offers optional in-app purchases, which may include:

• Coins
• Power-up bundles
• Characters
• Starter packs
• Other virtual items

Purchases are processed by:

• Apple through the App Store
• Google through Google Play

Digital Helix Labs does not receive or store your full credit card or payment-card information.

The game may receive and process information associated with a purchase, including:

• Product purchased
• Transaction identifier
• Purchase status
• Price and currency
• Store receipt or transaction information

Certain purchase and transaction information may also be processed through Unity services for transaction, analytics, and game-economy purposes.

5. Cloud Storage and Game Services

Word Run uses Unity Gaming Services to provide game functionality.

These services may include:

Unity Authentication

Creates and maintains the anonymous player account used by Word Run.

Unity Cloud Save

Stores game progress and related player data so that progress can be preserved and synchronized.

Unity Economy

Stores information such as coin balances, inventories, power-ups, characters, and virtual purchases.

Unity Leaderboards

Stores and displays selected player scores, progress, and display names.

Unity Remote Config

Allows Digital Helix Labs to adjust certain game settings without requiring an app update.

Unity Cloud Code

Supports certain server-side functions, including player-name checks and secure player-data deletion requests.

6. How We Use Information

We use information collected through Word Run to:

• Operate the game
• Maintain your anonymous player account
• Save and restore game progress
• Maintain virtual currency and inventory
• Provide leaderboards
• Process in-app purchases
• Serve non-personalized advertisements
• Provide rewarded-ad benefits
• Understand game usage
• Improve gameplay and balancing
• Diagnose errors and technical issues
• Prevent abuse, fraud, and invalid activity
• Maintain game security
• Respond to support and privacy requests
• Process player-data deletion requests

7. When Information Is Shared

We do not sell your personal information.

We do not intentionally share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Information may be disclosed to service providers that help operate Word Run, including:

Unity Technologies

Unity provides services used for:

• Analytics
• Cloud Save
• Economy
• Leaderboards
• Cloud Code
• Remote Config
• Advertising and mediation
• Game infrastructure

Google

Google may process information through:

• Google AdMob
• Google Play Billing on Android

Apple

Apple processes purchases made through the App Store and provides platform services used by the iOS version of Word Run.

Cloudflare

Cloudflare hosts and protects the Word Run website and may process normal web-request information such as IP address, browser information, requested URLs, timestamps, and network/security information.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users, prevent fraud, enforce legal rights, or protect the security of Word Run.

8. Data Retention

Player-account and gameplay information may be retained while your Word Run player account remains active and as necessary to operate the game.

Different service providers may retain different categories of information for different periods based on their technical, legal, fraud-prevention, security, and operational requirements.

When you request deletion of your Word Run player data, Digital Helix Labs begins the deletion process described below.

Certain provider-side records, backups, security records, fraud-prevention records, or information required by law may remain for additional periods according to the applicable provider’s retention practices.

9. Deleting Your Word Run Player Data

You can initiate deletion directly from Word Run:

Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete Player Data

Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Before any player data is removed, Word Run securely creates a server-side deletion request containing the information necessary to process the request. If that request cannot be saved successfully, the deletion process will not proceed and your account and data will remain unchanged.

A deletion request covers Word Run player data including:

• Game progress
• Stars
• Coins
• Inventory
• Power-ups
• Characters and unlocks
• Cloud Save information
• Anonymous Word Run player account
• Leaderboard information
• Economy information

Word Run also submits a request to delete associated Unity Analytics data.

Some server-side Economy and Leaderboard information requires additional administrative processing.

Digital Helix Labs will complete the Word Run account and game-data deletion process within 7 days of a valid deletion request.

Certain service-provider records may take additional time to be fully removed according to their own retention and deletion processes.

When you submit a deletion request, Word Run provides a deletion request ID that can be used for support purposes.

If you open or begin playing Word Run again after your previous account has been deleted, Word Run may create a new anonymous player account. The new account is separate from the deleted account and does not restore the deleted account’s progress.

10. Uninstalling Word Run

Deleting or uninstalling the Word Run app from your device removes locally stored application data according to your device’s operating system.

Uninstalling the app by itself does not necessarily delete information already stored on Unity or other service-provider servers.

11. Children’s Privacy

Word Run is intended for a general audience and is not designed specifically for children under 13.

Word Run does not require players to provide an email address, telephone number, or real name to create the anonymous player account used by the game.

12. Your U.S. Privacy Rights

Depending on the state where you live, you may have rights regarding personal information associated with you, which may include the right to:

• Request access to certain information
• Request correction of certain information
• Request deletion
• Obtain information about how data is used or disclosed
• Opt out of certain forms of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising

Word Run is configured to use non-personalized advertising and to signal restrictions against sale or sharing for behavioral advertising purposes.

13. Security

Digital Helix Labs and its service providers use technical and organizational measures intended to protect information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

Word Run uses encrypted network connections for its supported online services.

However, no method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

14. Word Run Website

• Advertising
• Tracking pixels
• User-registration forms
• Newsletter forms
• Third-party web analytics
• Third-party hosted fonts

The website is hosted through Cloudflare.

Cloudflare may process standard network and security information required to deliver and protect the website, such as:

• IP address
• Browser and device information
• Requested URL
• Timestamp
• Network-error information
• Security information

The website may provide an email link to contact Digital Helix Labs. Simply clicking that link does not submit information through the Word Run website itself; information is sent through your chosen email provider if you decide to send a message.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when Word Run changes, when our service providers or data practices change, or when required by law or platform policies.

When we make material changes, we will update the Last Updated date at the top of this page and may provide additional notice when appropriate.
